Interval International, a prominent worldwide provider of vacation services and an operating business of Interval Leisure Group, received the Perspective Magazine “Best Media” award at the recent GNEX 2012 – Timeshare and Fractional Global Networking Expo in Cancun, Mexico. The company’s social media site, Interval Community, was recognized for its ability to gain the trust and long-term affinity of its members through the facilitation of member-to-member relationships and its capacity to deepen the Interval-to-member connection. In addition, Interval’s developer partners garnered top prizes in 19 categories.

Accepting the “Best Media” award, David Gilbert, Interval’s executive vice president of resort sales and marketing, commented, “It’s an honor to be recognized for our innovative approach to creating a unique member platform. Interval Community is a natural extension of our ongoing commitment to members and we’re delighted that they’re finding such value in connecting with each other about their vacation ownership.”

With more than 115,000 member profiles and 30,000 content-rich postings, Interval Community offers practical information for members on how to maximize their membership. This forum has enjoyed over 6 million page views, many of which were repeat visitors. Additionally, it has become an important consumer research tool to better serve the needs of its members.

GNEX 2012 was a gathering of shared ownership industry professionals representing more than 175 companies from around the world. The awards, presented at a gala dinner, were chosen through a combination of online voting and judging by a panel of industry experts.
